Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These

こんにちわ みんなさん、レーシュ オーウェン です。 Legend of the Galactic Heroes is well known as one of the most sophisticated, semi-highbrow anime shows of all time. The currently airing remake of the classic series is a fantastic homage to the original series that only builds on the original. The animation is incredibly solid and the remake retains the pacing and depth of the original series. The characters in LotGH are masterfully crafted, including perhaps my favorite anime character of all time, Yang Wen-li, the laid-back brilliant commander of the Free Planets Alliance's fleets. I am evermore seeing improvements in my aural comprehension of the Japanese language, picking up more and more aspects of conversation, though I do still struggle with more specific, plot based words.  Chock full of social and philosophical commentary whilst still retaining a clever plot, comedic moments, and clever battles, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These is in my opinion a must watch.

Chainsaw man

こんにちわ! レーシュ オーウェンです。 Chainsaw man is a phenomenal show so far. It runs in the same vein as Jujutsu Kaisen: main character becomes part monster and is forced into hunting monsters so he is not himself hunter. Chainsaw is essentially Jujutsu Kaisen but just more absurd and intense. Chainsaw is animated by MAPPA so the animation quality is incredible, and is also reminiscent of Jujutsu Kaisen as it was also animated by MAPPA. Chainsaw man doesn't come with many voice actors I am already familiar with which is exciting as I might come across some new favorites. I actually covered up the subtitles with my hand for part of the show and was able to keep up with most of the day to day conversation. I quickly lagged behind when they started talking about plot and using more specified language but it was really exciting to see such direct improvements in my skills! I can't be too sure how good Chainsaw Man will be as we are only two episodes in but I am super excited to see how this se...

Fate/Zero!

みんな、こんにちわ。 せんしゅまつに Fate/Zero を みました。 Fate/Zeroは とても いいアニメです。 Fate/Zero was one of the first anime shows I watched after completing Naruto, and I have recently started rewatching the series. From the characters to the animation to the music to the story itself the entire show is a work of art. It also has a special place in my heart given that it is one of my earliest watches. Fate/Zero is much grittier than Fate/Unlimited Blade Works, which has its positives and negatives, but I think as an overall show Fate/Zero stands out as the better show. Overall rating: 10/10

Cyberpunk Edgerunners!

こんにちわ。 This week I watched Cyberpunk Edgerunners. It's been really good so far, much better than I have come to expect from anime produced by Netflix. The world-building is incredibly effective and the show sits comfortably in its own niche. It doesn't push any inventive boundaries but it is a show that knows what it is and does it quite well. The character design is excellent, and the voice acting is all phenomenal. I am so glad that the show is in Japanese rather than english as Netflix animations typically are. The show is made even better by the addition of Tsuda Kenjiro, one of my all time favorite voice actors. He has played characters in Attack on Titan, One Punch Man, 91 days, My Hero Academia, ID Invaded, Tower of God, Jujutsu Kaisen, Horimiya, and many more.  So far I rate Cyberpunk Edgerunners 9/10
