地獄楽: Hell's Paradise is an anime that I've been looking forward to for quite some time now. I first became aware of the story when the announcement trailer for the show came out , and this made me interested enough that I decided to read the Manga. I decided after two chapters to wait to continue reading until after the first season had finished airing so I would be able to watch without any spoilers. I can honestly say that the wait was well worth it. The story elements are well executed, the world building is bizarre in such a way that it fills you with with surreal wonder and latent dread. I am thoroughly looking forward to watching how the story unfolds over the coming months and watching this fascinating amalgamation of gritty horror and visual beauty play out.
I am definitely someone who loves to be able to exactly follow every detail of a story which is why I often find myself hesitant to use subtitles. However, in this case I have found that I am able to stay on top of the story so long as I am attentive to each and every interaction. This has been a rather big development for me as I am no more easily able to challenge myself by not watching shows with subtitles.
