Psycho Pass: サイコ パス

今週、私はサイコパスをたくさん見ました。 一番目ではないですから、サブタイトルを使わなかったです。このアニメはとてもおもろいです。

Psycho Pass is a rather well written anime with an almost philosophical message behind its story. The show is about a future Japan where everyone gets a rating based on how likely they are to commit a crime in that moment. If this number exceeds a certain value they are arrested as latent criminals.  As you can imagine, the system is not perfect. The primary antagonist of the first season cannot be so described even though he commits horrible crimes. It is the job of the inspectors and enforcers to enforce the will of the system, so there conflict with this antagonist becomes rather engaging rather quickly.

I have learned four new terms from watching Psycho pass, the first being　猟犬、the word for hunting dog. The enforcers are regularly referred to as such hunting dogs, which makes the inspectors dog handlers, or 飼い主 which translates directly as owner. The title inspector in Japanese is 刑事さん, also translating to detective. The enforcers are referred to as 監視官, which also translates to warden.
