Owen's Japanese Journey

こんにちわみんなさん、お元気ですか。レーシュさんです。  Death Note was another one of the first anime shows that I got into during the summer of 2020. I thoroughly enjoyed my first watch but never actually finished the show as I stopped after about episode twenty when there is a rather significant event in the plot. With this change the primary reason I was watching the show disappeared, and I inadvertently just stopped watching Death Note. I however have several times revisited those first few episodes as they are honestly a masterclass in suspense and expectation subversion. Death note does a great job of making tension with such a simple basis for conflict: it is a show about a detective trying to catch a criminal. What makes Death note so powerful is that you end up rooting for both sides as you are shown the chase from both perspectives.  Kimetsu no Yaiba was one of the first shows I watched upon diving into anime, and it has a special place in my heart. This is also the only show which I have also purchased all of the manga for. Kimetsu no Yaiba has been consistently blowing expectations out of the water when it comes to animation and style, with some of the best fight scenes in anime in general. The show has become a cult classic and also has one of the highest grossing films in the history of Japan. So far this season which started airing ４月９日, has been rather entertaining. Demon slayer season always start out slow but this season is going to really kick into swing, with one of my favorite characters coming into play. I am really looking forward to watching where this season goes, and may do a second post about this season!  こんにちわ　みんなさん、お元気ですか。レーシュさんです。 地獄楽: Hell's Paradise is an anime that I've been looking forward to for quite some time now. I first became aware of the story when the announcement trailer for the show came out , and this made me interested enough that I decided to read the Manga. I decided after two chapters to wait to continue reading until after the first season had finished airing so I would be able to watch without any spoilers. I can honestly say that the wait was well worth it. The story elements are well executed, the world building is bizarre in such a way that it fills you with with surreal wonder and latent dread. I am thoroughly looking forward to watching how the story unfolds over the coming months and watching this fascinating amalgamation of gritty horror and visual beauty play out.  Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a cult classic in the modern anime community. I actually started watching the show way back in 2019, but couldn't manage to get myself invested in the story. I picked the show back up in 2022 and fell in love. The first two seasons are definitely a bit slow, however once you get to season three the show really picks up. The show is over the top in so many different ways, and this very quality is what has brought the show such widespread love across the anime community and pop culture at large. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is one of the few anime to have a significant pop culture impact, as it has had several memes become hits outside of the anime community. I recently started rewatching the third season and have enjoyed this rewatch just as much as I enjoyed watching the show  this past year.
